 Dear Querent,

The normal course of study after graduation is post graduation

You can do post graduation in economics, applied economics, statistics, MBA (Economics), journalism , econometrics, business economics, quantitative economics, corporation and applied economics, mathematical economics etc.  you can also do post graduate diploma in some specialized fields.

post graduation can be followed by M.Phil and doctoral programs.

After post graduation you can appear for Indian economic service and also Indian Statistical services which is conducted by upsc

You can enroll for post graduation programs in school of economics, Delhi university.

You can even clear your NET and think of lectureship.

Hope this helps

Happy career planning

Hello there,

The obvious course of action is to pursue a masters degree.

Just adding to the choices mentioned by the above counselor, you could opt for Actuarial sciences too.

Wish you good luck...

Dear Aspirant,

You do not wish to do MA in Economics and do not wish to be in the teaching profession too, but who told you that doing MA Economics only gets you into teaching profession? There are plenty of jobs available on the basis of MA Economics in corporate industry. Don't you know this? I am sad that somebody has mis guided you or you have made some wrong apprehensions about you and careers.

If you wish to get into the corporate jobs, MA Economics can be a very good qualification. If you can do MA Economics from top economics institutes like Gokhale Institute, Pune, Symbiosis School Pune, Delhi School, Madras School, etc. then definitely you have very good chances of getting into a good job. Further on the basis of MA Economics, you can appear for Reserve Bank of India exams through which you can get into RBI. There are exams also conducted by SEBI, since they also need Economics Masters candidates.

IF you do not wish to be in entire Economics as a career, you can opt for MBA Finance from a top BSchool. BA Economics and MBA can lead you to good jobs.

Best wishes
