To be a fashion designer, you need to have a degree in fashion designing. A course in designing will enhance your knowledge in the area of fashion right from fabric to designs that would suit the fabric, threads etc.
After 10th you need to pursue 12th any stream. After 12th, you could choose a course in designing, a 4 years degree course. Eligibility for the course is an entrance exam. Please note the entrance exam tests your imagination skills and intution skills too. Creativity with innovation is what is tested.
There are short term certficate courses available. You can avail this course and test your skills before you opt for a degree course.
While pursuing the course, get a portfolio ready. Different designs created by you is a must to get a job. Please note the initial phase of working is a struggle. You need to work under top designer and gain experience. Then can you begin on your own.
