The process to apply for a flying branch through CDS (Combined Defence Services) entrance exam. This exam organizes by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). Only unmarried men can participate in CDS entrance examination Eligibility criteria required is: Candidate should have a full time graduate degree with any stream from any recognized college or university. The candidate who appearing in final year is also eligible to participate in India Army or air force exam. This year (2016) CDS-part 1st (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE) notification was already announced and the examination was also already done of first phase. Candidates wait till the next notification will be published in the month of June in the official website of CDS. How to apply for CDS? Online application process consists of two parts. The candidate can apply for only online application through their official website, and there is no offline application available. Application fee just has to pay Rs 100 in any of following modes of payments: Payment via Internet banking, Master/Visa / credit / Debit Cards, SBI bank, etc. For joining flying branch there is no written examination will be held for candidates. But Candidates must have faced personal interview which will be organized by SSB (Service Selection Board). Minimum of 60% marks is required for B.Tech candidates to apply. Candidate age must be at least minimum 19 years and maximum 23 years. For Flying (Pilot) Short Service Commission, both unmarried male and female can apply through these criteria if they secured a minimum of 60% marks during their B. Tech program. Age criteria limit specified between 19 to 23 years, while CPL (Commercial Pilot License holders can claim an upper age limit up to 25 years also. Candidates should qualify in AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) exam. (UES) University Entry Scheme for those who are appearing in the final year/semester of B. Tech program can apply through this scheme. All Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks up to last semester/year at the mean time of AFSB testing. Any backlogs should not allow for candidates for participating in the selection process. It is mandatory criteria that candidates should secure a minimum of 60% marks on successful completion of B. Tech degree. Only male candidates can forward their application form as this scheme through permanent commission. All Candidates participate through both these schemes should qualify the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test). Applications can be submitted during the last month (December) of every year.
