The work of agriculture engineers involves providing solutions for technical problems related to agriculture.Work in water supply and water irrigation fields in related to dam design, canal, pipeline, pump systems, micro irrigation systems and drainage systems etc.He is responsible for designing improved tools to work the soil and harvest the crops, as well as developing water supplies for agriculture and systems for irrigating and draining the land where necessary. They design farmsteads in which to house animals or store grains. They also work on problems of processing, packaging, transporting and distributing the food and fiber products. Ample opportunities for employment are available for agriculture engineers in public and private sector. In public sector they can work for the agriculture department of state and central government, universities/ institutes etc. In private sector they can work for agriculture cooperatives, agriculture manufacturing units, fertilizers and irrigation companies,farming companies etc.
