Entrance exam
For admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST) holds an entrance exam. The HSTES (Haryana State Technical admission Examination) is the name of the admission exam. The HSTES is a computer-based test with 200 multiple-choice questions. The exam will last two hours.

For undergraduate programs: Candidate must have completed Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks. The candidate must have achieved at least 60% marks in the exam. The following categories of applicants are exempted from the above eligibility requirements: SC/ST/PwD candidates: They must score at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination. Passing Criteria
The following are the HSTES (Haryana State Technical Entrance Examination) exam passing criteria: A minimum of 40% in each of the three subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry is required. In addition, the candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% on the exam. The cut-off for the HSTES exam varies by program. DCRUST conducts supplementary exams for HSTES examination. The supplementary exam is an opportunity for HSTES non-qualified candidates to improve their scores and get admission in DCRUST courses.
