the University was part of the United States -based Laureate International Universities network .In 2019 , UPES entered into an academic collaboration with the Global University System , a Dutch education network , initially by signing a memorandum of understanding and then as a full member, for education ,training and research cooperation. Since its establishment in 2003, UPES has expanded into two campuses, Energy Acres and Knowledge Acres, in Bidholi and Kandoli in the Dehradun district. The corporate office is based in New Delhi.

The modes of UPES courses admissions 2023 are online and offline. Admission to various courses is on the basis of merit and entrance test conducted by the University. At the Ug level University offers four – five year BE/BTech, three to four year BSc, BBA, BCom, BA, and three-year LLB and BCA courses to students.
