The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together before they go on to their respective service academy for further pre-commission training. Eligibility criteria for NDA
The eligibility criteria for the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam are as follows:
- Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Age Limit: The candidate must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years old. For the NDA I 2024 exam, candidates should be born between July 2, 2005, to January 1, 2009. For the NDA II 2024 exam, candidates should be born between January 2, 2006, to July 1, 2009.
- Educational Qualification: For Army Wing of NDA: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University. For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards set by the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply.
