Introduction
To be eligible for the JKSET exam, candidates must have a master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). Candidates with a Ph.D. degree are eligible for direct appointment as Assistant Professor.
About
All applicants interested in working as assistant professors and junior research fellows within the different institutes and schools of the state, namely Jammu and Kashmir, must take the JKSET, which is administered annually by the University of Kashmir.
The State Eligibility Test, or SET, is based on the format of the National Eligibility Test (NET), which is administered for Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences disciplines, respectively, by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and UGC/CSIR. SET, a state-level examination, is given in both English and vernacula.
