Overview

An accountant studies and analyses the financial data of the company. Based on the calculations and the study performed, he has a role in providing financial reports to the company. The company uses this report to take new decisions that require budgeting also. He/ she prepares and maintains all the tangible and nontangible assets. The accountants have an important role in suggesting the strategical moves forward in order to provide better results to students. In addition, an accountant also suggests the company officials on the financial decisions for the future. If employed in a company, it also helps in employees’ salary transactions, reimbursements, etc.

Roles & Responsibilities

An accountant has full responsibility of fulfilling accounting standards for their clients
Accountants are often consulted for tax filling and income tax rebate
They need to work on legal standards related to accounting
They can discuss with investment analysts on how their clients can use their money in an efficient way
Preparing financial budget and annual budget report for their clients
Analysing market trends on a regular basis
Pitch for new clients

Mathematical: He needs to be good with numbers and be able to work with big calculations easily.

Problem-Solver: They face several challenges while performing their job and they should be logical thinker as well as problem solver.
Decision Maker: As an accountant, they need to work with the money matters and thus their job requires taking instant decisions.
Knowledge of Accounting Norms: There are several rules and regulations that are set by the Indian Government for accounting purposes. An accountant should keep himself/ herself updated of all the new legal regulations.
