In order to provide higher education for those wishing to pursue degrees in the humanities, sciences, and degrees, Lady Brabourne College [LBC], Kolkata, West Bengal, was founded in the year 1939 as a Public Educational Institute. LBC is connected with the University of Calcutta in Kolkata and is approved by NAAC-A. The LBC Kolkata management is supervised by Prof. Siuli Sarkar, the principal.

The college is located in the heart of Kolkata, in the Park Circus area. The campus is spread over an area of more than 10 hectares and contains several academic and administrative buildings as well as a library, a computer center and a sports center.Through its well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other facilities, the institution offers students a welcoming environment.
