The Rajasthan University, formerly known as the University of Rajputana, is a public university located in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, India. It was established on 8 January 1947, and is the oldest university in the state of Rajasthan. The university has a sprawling campus spread over 1,000 acres (400 ha) in the heart of Jaipur.
