1) St. Xavier’s College, SXC Kolkata
St. Xavier’s College is a private autonomous college, which was established in the year 1860. The college is graded “A++” by NAAC and is approved by the UGC. Being an autonomous college, SXC Kolkata is affiliated with the University of Calcutta. The college provides BSc in Economics Honours, and the admissions are based on marks obtained in class 12. Students who are planning to apply for BSc Eco (Honours) in SXC Kolkata must note that Mathematics should be one of their compulsory subjects.
2) Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kharagpur
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is a well-known college i.e. usually famous for BTech and MTech. However, IIT Kharagpur does offer a BSc + MSc integrated course in Economics. 4) Presidency University, Kolkata
Presidency University was established in 1817. After being a constituent of the Calcutta University, in July 2010, it got the university status and now runs as a private university. It is approved by the UGC and is accredited by NAAC with a grade of “A”. For admissions into the BSc Economics Honours course, candidates need to sit for the Presidency University Bachelor’s Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET). On meeting the eligibility criterion via the test, admissions are granted.
5) Lady Brabourne College, LBC Kolkata
