CBSE is the government of India’s national board of secondary education for both public and private schools. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education. There are more than 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated to the CBSE.

About
The Board of Secondary Education is a state-level board of education for public and private schools in India, controlled and administered by the Government of India. The board was established in 1929 by cabinet decision and was an experimental transnational integration and collaboration in the field of secondary education. There are more than 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign CBSEs. All CBSE affiliated schools follow the NCERT syllabus, especially for classes 9-12. The current Chairperson of CBSE is Nidhi Chibber, IAS. The board’s charter was amended in 1952 so that its current name is the Board of Secondary Education. The Board was re-established on 1 July 1962 to provide its services to students and various educational institutions across the country.

Academics & Trainings
The CBSE’s Academic, Training, Innovation and Research unit’s mission is to attain academic excellence through the conceptualization of policies and their operational planning to ensure balanced academic activities in the Board-affiliated schools. The unit works hard to offer a curriculum, a scheme of studies, academic standards, texts, support materials, extracurricular activities, and capacity-building programs. The unit operates in accordance with the more general goals outlined in the National Curriculum Framework-2005 and in compliance with the different policies and acts that are occasionally approved by the Government of India.
Promotion Criteria
- 10th grade
Demand Initially, the passing criteria were set so that the student had to obtain 33% in both the theory and the practical part. However, the exemption was originally made for students writing the exam in 2018 when they passed the old CCE system last year. However, CBSE later extended this relaxation to students writing the exam from 2019 onwards. Students who cannot pass a maximum of two subjects can enroll in the subjects of these subjects in July. Those who fail a subject or fail three or more subjects must retake all their studies for the following year.
- 12th grade
The promotion criteria for grade 12 students is 33% overall and 33% for both theory and practical exams (if required). Students who cannot pass exactly one subject can write a section of that subject in July. Those who fail a subject or two or more subjects must retake all studies the following year.
- To advance from Intermediate (Class IX-X) to Intermediate (Class XI-XII), a student must score a total of 33% (or top 5 if the subject is passed) in all subjects without theory marks.
Examinations
The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts Class 10th and Class 12th final examinations every year in March. The results of these exams are declared before the last week of May. Previously, the government used to conduct the AIEEE test for admission in undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture in Indian colleges. However, in 2013, AIEEE was merged with JEE, which is now known as JEE(Main ), and is conducted here. CBSE has also conducted the AIPMT test for admission in major medical colleges. In 2014. The CBSE has become the world’s largest research institution after the addition of NET in 2014.
Latest Grading System
For the Class 10 and Class 12 exams, the CBSE also includes the student’s placement grade, which is based on the overall performance of students in that subject and is included with the marks earned. As a result, each year’s cutoffs for achieving a particular grade change.

CBSE Exams 2023 2023 were concluded by 1st week of April 2023 and CBSE Result 2023 was declared on 12th May 2023 with a total of 38,83,710 students including 21,86,940 class 10 students and 70,96 class . Students are requested to visit this page for latest updates on CBSE 10th and 12th Exams 2023. In 2022, CBSE had an all-time high of 36 lakh students for class 10th and 12th exams. About 22 lakh class 10 students and 14 lakh class 12 students appeared for the CBSE exams. CBSE has also increased the number of exam centers from 7,000 to 14,000, with only 12 students sitting in each room. Last year, the CBSE result was declared on July 22 for both class 10 and class 12 students.

CBSE 10th Results 2023 recorded an overall pass percentage of 93.12%. In 2022, CBSE Result 2022 pass percentage stood at 94.40%. In 2021, the Boad recorded the highest-ever CBSE Class 10 pass percentage, i.e. 99.04%, a significant increase from 91.46% in 2020.
