JKBOPEE stands for Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations. It is a statutory body constituted under the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002.

The Board is responsible for conducting entrance examinations for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate professional courses in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The headquarters of JKBOPEE is located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The Board has a governing body consisting of a chairman, vice chairman, and four members. The Board also has a secretariat headed by a secretary.

JKBOPEE conducts a number of entrance examinations

  • Common Entrance Test (CET) for Engineering
  • Common Entrance Test (CET) for Medical
  • Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
  • Para Medical Diploma Courses (12th Based)
  • B.Sc. Nursing/ParaMedical/Technology
  • Diploma Programmes in Polytechnics
  • MD/MS Ayurveda
  • MD/MS/PG Diploma and MDS Courses
  • B. Ed. (CET)
  • 10th Based Para Medical Course

The Board also conducts other examinations as and when required.

Eligibility Criteria

Depending on the course, different people may qualify for different JKBO exams. However, a few standard requirements for qualifying include:

  • Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh
  • Minimum age of 17 years
  • Minimum educational qualification as specified for the course
  • Medical fitness

Eligibility criteria for specific courses:

  • Common Entrance Test (CET) for Engineering:

 Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with compulsory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.

  • Common Entrance Test (CET) for Medical:

 Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English compulsory subjects.

  • Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing: 

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects, and must have completed a 3-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

Application Process

JKBOPEE examination applications must be submitted online. The following are the steps that make up the application process:

  2. Click on the “Apply Online” tab.
  3. Select the examination you want to apply for.
