Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the AME CET 2024 exam are as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed or appeared in the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects.
  • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in PCM in the 10+2 examination.
  • The candidate’s age must be between 14 and 28 years at the time of admission.
  • The candidate must be physically and mentally fit to pursue a career in aircraft maintenance engineering.

In addition to the above, the following additional eligibility criteria apply to candidates with different educational backgrounds:

  • Candidates with a 3-year diploma in engineering from a recognized institute are eligible to apply for the AME CET without appearing for the 10+2 examination. However, they must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the diploma examination.
  • Candidates with a higher qualification in science with PCM, such as a B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree, are also eligible to apply for the AME CET without appearing for the 10+2 examination. However, they must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

  • Geometry: Triangles, circles, quadrilaterals, solids.

English

  • Comprehension: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar.
  • Writing: Essay writing, letter writing, report writing.

General Awareness

  • Current affairs: National and international news, politics, economy, sports, culture.
  • General science: Physics, chemistry, biology, environment.
  • General knowledge: History, geography, polity, economics, art and literature.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

  • Logical reasoning: Analogies, syllogisms, puzzles, coding-decoding.
  • Numerical reasoning: Number series, puzzles, problems on ages, time and work.
  • Spatial reasoning: Visualizing three-dimensional objects, problems on maps and charts.

The AME CET syllabus is based on the 10+2 science syllabus. However, the level of difficulty of the questions is higher than what is typically asked in 10+2 exams. Therefore, it is important to prepare well for the exam by studying the syllabus thoroughly and practicing with previous year question papers.
