The BITSAT exam, or Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, is a computer-based entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 3 marks and for every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted. There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the BITSAT Exam 2023, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB), and adequate proficiency in English.
  • Aggregate marks: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in PCM or PCB subjects, and 60% in each subject individually.
  • Appearance: Only students who are appearing for the 12th class examination in 2023 or who have passed the 12th class Examination in 2022 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2023 test.

Additional notes:

  • Candidates who have passed 12th class examination in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2023.
  • Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2023.
  • Admissions will be made purely on merit.
