The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was introduced by the Government of India in 2011 to improve standards in teaching. Teachers already working were expected to pass the exam within two years. The exam is based on the Government of India’s National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education and is a mandatory qualification for incoming teachers for Classes I through VIII. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) maintains the TET database and guides government bodies in conducting the test.

TET EXAMS FOR ENGINEERING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

The main parameters for eligibility are the age limit. educational qualification, and several attempts. The candidates who wish to apply should be above 18 years of age, others are. 

  • Nationality- Should be an Indian Citizen. 
  • Age Limit: As per rules age limit for male candidates is 18 to 35 years. 
  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates who have passed class 12th from recognized boards. 
  • Should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training program/course. 

The candidates should ensure they are aware of the eligibility criteria for various TET Exams and have the documents to prove the same before applying for the exam. 

A candidate must be : 

  • A Citizen of India 
  • A Subject of Nepal 
  • A Subject of Bhutan 
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India 
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India. 

There are two basic educational qualifications for the TET exam. 

  • Candidates should be class 12 passed or a graduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 45 percent marks 
  • Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or completed any other prescribed teacher training program/course. 

CTET Paper I (For Primary Teacher) Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 45% – 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2 years Bachelor of Education 

(B.Ed.)” are now eligible for becoming teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. CTET Paper II ( For Secondary Teacher) Graduation with at least 45% – 50% marks and passed or appearing in 2-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) or B.Ed. (Special Education) or four years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or BA/B.Sc.Ed. or BA.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. are also eligible to apply. All candidates are required to do a degree education along with other educational qualifications. Candidates who have completed their class 12 board examination and have a D.El.Ed. Degree and have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for reserved category) are eligible for the exam. 

Candidates with a graduate degree in any discipline and have completed a 2-year D.El.Ed program, are eligible for the exam. Candidates who scored a minimum aggregate score of 50% in their class 12 board exam and completed a four-year B.El.Ed program. Candidates who have cleared the class 12 board exam with a minimum aggregate score of 50% and completed a 2-year D.El.Ed programs in Special Education, are also eligible for the exam. 

Candidates who have completed their graduation and obtained a minimum aggregate score of 50% in the qualifying exam as well as have a valid B.Ed. degree are also eligible for the exams. The candidates who are 

Tet Exams For Engineering (2)preparing for the Teachers Eligibility Test are confused about the exam pattern for either TET or CTET. One must be aware that there are no changes between the two exams. Both TET and CTET are offline examinations that are conducted in an OMR-based sheet. All questions are asked in an MCQ format, and the candidates are asked to answer 150 questions in 2½ hours. All 150 questions carry 1 mark each. There is no negative marking for any questions. Both CTET and TET examinations have two papers that will determine the classes that the candidates will conduct. The positions and the packages that are offered to the candidates who clear CTET and TET are based on the experience and skills that they have gained over the years. 

However, the major differences that occur after appearing for the CTET or TET examinations depend on the kind of government schools candidates will be offered positions at. Candidates who have appeared for the CTET examinations will be offered jobs in schools that are run by the Central Government alone, while the candidates who have appeared for one of the State TET exams will be offered jobs in the specific state government-run schools.

  • Paper 1 – It is for the teachers who want to opt for classes I-V 
  • Paper2 – It is for the teachers who want to opt for classes from VI-VIII 
  • The teacher who wants to take up classes for I-VII can write both the papers 
  • There is no negative marking in the examination.
  • Both papers will be for 2 and a half hours.

 HOW TO FILL OUT ONLINE FORMS FOR TET EXAMS FOR ENGINEERING? 

  1. Aspirants must first log in to the official website and fill out the application form online to apply for the TET exam. 
  2. They must then click ‘Apply Online to redirect to the instructions page.
  3. They must read all of the fundamental guidelines for the application process and then apply online after carefully reading all the directions. 
  4. Candidates must complete all fields and then click ‘Next.’ 
  5. There’s also a reset button if you want to change the information you’ve entered. Candidates will send to a Review Page after clicking ‘Next,’ and then clicking the ‘Final Submit’ button.

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a state-based test that determines whether or not a teacher is eligible to teach both the federal and state governments to use it to select qualified teachers for schools and institutions. Paper 1 and Paper 2 are the two papers in the TET. Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach at the primary level, and paper 2 is for candidates who wish to teach at the upper primary level.
