The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national level engineering entrance exam conducted in India for admission to various engineering colleges. It is constituted by two different examinations: the JEE-Main and the JEE-Advanced.

JEE-Main is the screening exam for JEE-Advanced. It is conducted twice every year, in January and April. JEE-Main is also used for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs).

Eligibility Criteria

The JEE Exam Eligibility Criteria for 2024 are as follows:

  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Main exam.
  • Year of Passing Qualifying Examination: Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or appearing in 2024 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2024.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 exam (65% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Number of Attempts: Candidates can appear for JEE Main a maximum of 3 times in 3 consecutive years.

Application Process

The JEE exam application process is typically conducted in two stages:
