Students hailing from Horanadu and Gadinadu areas must appear for the Kannada language test along with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths exams. The Kannada language test will be a class 4 level test conducted to check the student’s proficiency in the Kannada language. The minimum pass score for this exam is 12 out of 50. The exam will be conducted in Bidar, Ballary, Bijapur, Mangalore and Bangalore districts. 

Eligibility Criteria

The detailed eligibility criteria for KCET 2023:

  1. Nationality:
    • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  2. Educational Qualifications for B.E/B.Tech:
    • Completed 2nd PUC/12th Standard or an equivalent examination.
    • Minimum of 45% Marks in Physics and Mathematics, along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Electronics/Computer (40% for reserved category).
    • Candidates awaiting results in 2022 can also apply.
  3. B.Sc. and B.Tech. Courses:
    • Completion of 2nd PUC/12th Standard or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
  4. B.Pharma:
    • Passed 12th with PCM/PCB with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for reserved category).
    • Or, passed in Diploma in Pharmacy with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for reserved category).
  5. Domicile:
    • Studied at a recognized institution in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years (from 1st standard to 2nd PUC/12th standard) as of July 1 of the exam year.
    • Candidates must have appeared/passed SSLC/10th standard or 2nd PUC/12th standard exam from Karnataka.
  6. Ward of Defense Personnel:
    • Wards of defense personnel employed for a minimum of one year in Karnataka during the two years period of H.S are eligible.
    • Sons or daughters of serving defense personnel or those who have served in Karnataka for at least one year are eligible.
    • Candidates must have studied and passed the qualifying exam from a recognized board/educational institute located in Karnataka.
  7. Mother Tongue of Candidates:
    • Mother tongue should be Kannada, Tulu, Kodava.
    • Must be a resident of Kannada or have resided and studied for 7 years between 1st and 12th standards in specific areas mentioned.
    • Candidates may have to undergo a Kannada language test.
  8. Migrant Candidates of Jammu and Kashmir:
    • Candidates whose parents are migrants of Jammu and Kashmir need to produce proof of migration.

Application Process

The procedure to fill out the KCET application form 2023 has been explained below:

  • Visit the official website of KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority)
  • Click on the “UGCET -2023 Online Application Link”
  • Next, click on the “New User” link and register yourself 
  • Enter the required details like your name, address, educational qualifications etc. in the online registration form 
  • Click on the “Submit” tab
  • After successful registration, the candidate will receive an application number and user ID at their registered mobile number
  • Candidate’s application number and user ID will also be displayed on their screen
  • Next, log into the KEA website using your user ID and password and fill up the required details in the KCET application form 2023
  • Candidates must fill the details in the KCET application form “tab-wise”, that is, one after the other
  • These details will include general information, reservation details, RD details, educational details, declaration by the candidate and application fee payment
  • In the RD details menu, candidates are required to upload the scanned images of their latest photograph, signature & left-hand thumb impression in the given fields
  • After filling in the details, carefully review the KCET application form 
  • If any edits are required, log into the candidate portal and make the changes
  • If no edits are required, select the declaration and pay the requisite KCET application fee
  • Pay the KCET application fees by selecting an appropriate payment gateway
  • Take out the final printout of your KCET application form 2023 and keep it safe for future reference.

    • Introduction to Physics, Scope, and excitement of Physics.
  2. Units and Measurement:
    • Measurement, systems of units, SI units, dimensional analysis.
  3. Motion in a Straight Line:
    • Position, path length, displacement, average velocity and speed, instantaneous velocity and speed.
  4. Motion in a Plane:
    • Scalars and Vectors, Projectile motion, Uniform circular motion.
  5. Laws of Motion:
    • Force and Inertia, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Friction, Circular Motion.

Conclusion

Bhavna, an aspirant who appeared for KCET 2020 biology paper, found the paper very easy. There were adequate arrangements for candidates in view of covid-19 and every student was wearing masks.

Swaroop Janney, another KCET 2020 aspirant who appeared for the biology exam, the paper was quite normal but the preparedness of the exam conducting authority was not satisfactory at the exam centre.

Another aspirant said Biology question paper was quite easy. Questions from 1st pu was very very low. Some of her friends found it difficult. Questions like Genesis graph was also asked, labeling floral diagrams, fungi examples

According to Resonance BASE, the question paper was balanced with an almost equal number of questions from Botany and Zoology. The 1st year concepts had 15 questions while 2nd year had 45 questions. Students who prepared well from the NCERT Biology textbooks and learnt the concepts thoroughly will be able to easily ace the exam.
