Overview
The MAT is a computer-based test (CBT), paper-based test (PBT), or internet-based proctored test (IBT) that lasts for 150 minutes and consists of 200 questions divided into five sections: Language Comprehension and Verbal Ability, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment.
Eligibility Criteria
The MAT eligibility criteria are as follows:
Educational Qualification: Graduates in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
Appearing Candidates: Final year graduation students can also apply for MAT provisionally.
Percentage of Marks:
- General/EWS/OBC candidates: 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation.
- SC/ST/PwD candidates: 45% marks or equivalent CGPA in graduation.
Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in MAT.
Additional Information:
- Candidates who have appeared for the final year graduation exams but are awaiting results can also apply for MAT. However, they will have to submit their graduation mark sheet/degree certificate before taking admission to any B-school.
- Foreign candidates are also eligible to appear for MAT. However, they will have to submit their graduation mark sheet/degree certificate along with an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

MAT Entrance Exam Application Process
- Visit the official website of AIMA MAT: https://registration.mat.aima.in/
- Click on the “Register” button.
- Enter your personal details such as name, email address, mobile number, and date of birth.
- Create a password and confirm it.
- Click on the “Submit” button.
- You will receive a confirmation email with your login credentials.
- Log in to your account and fill in the application form.
- Upload your photograph and signature.
- Select the exam mode (CBT, PBT, or IBT).
- Choose the exam date and test city.
- Pay the application fee.
