IIMA MBA Fee Structure

The fee structure for the MBA program at IIMA is subject to change from year to year, and it may vary for Indian and international students. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, I will provide you with a general idea of the fee structure. Please note that you should refer to the official IIMA website or contact the institute directly for the most up-to-date information.

1. Tuition Fee: The tuition fee for the two-year MBA program at IIMA typically accounts for the largest portion of the overall fees. It is essential to note that IIMA follows a trimester system, so the program’s duration is six trimesters.

2. Other Fees: In addition to tuition fees, students are required to pay several other fees, including:

  • Admission Fee: This is a one-time fee that students need to pay at the time of admission.
  • Library Fee: IIMA has a well-stocked library with a vast collection of books, journals, and research materials. A library fee is charged to support these resources.
  • Computer Facility Fee: IIMA provides state-of-the-art computer facilities to students, and a fee is charged to maintain and upgrade these facilities.
  • Alumni Association Fee: This fee supports the activities of the IIMA alumni association, which plays a vital role in maintaining the institute’s global network.
  • Hostel and Mess Charges: Students who choose to stay in IIMA’s hostels are required to pay hostel and mess charges separately.
  • Medical Insurance: IIMA usually provides medical insurance coverage for students during their stay at the institute.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

IIMA offers several scholarships and financial aid options to support deserving students who may face financial constraints. These scholarships are often merit-based and are awarded based on the candidate’s performance in the admission process and their financial need. Here are some of the prominent scholarships available at IIMA:

1. Aditya Birla Group Scholarships: The Aditya Birla Group offers scholarships to outstanding students admitted to the MBA program. These scholarships are highly competitive and cover a significant portion of the tuition fees.

2. BC Roy Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have secured top ranks in the CAT (Common Admission Test) and have been admitted to IIMA. It covers a substantial part of the tuition fees.

3. OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships: These scholarships are offered to students who have a background in engineering and have secured admission to IIMA. They aim to promote the integration of engineering and management skills.

4. Need-Based Scholarships: IIMA also offers need-based scholarships to students who can demonstrate a genuine financial need for assistance. The institute assesses the financial situation of applicants and awards scholarships accordingly.

5. State-Specific Scholarships: Some state governments in India offer scholarships to students from their respective states who are pursuing higher education. Students can explore these options if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Return on Investment (ROI) at IIMA

Additional Costs and Financial Planning

While considering the MBA fees, students should also account for additional costs associated with pursuing the program. These may include:

1. Living Expenses: The cost of living in Ahmedabad, where IIMA is located, may vary depending on individual preferences and lifestyle choices. Students should budget for accommodation, food, transportation, and personal expenses.

2. Study Materials: Students may need to purchase textbooks, study materials, and other resources as required for their courses.

3. Extracurricular Activities: Participating in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events may involve additional costs.
