Grading System

Under the CBCS, the degree, diploma, or certificate is awarded based on the number of credits earned. The amount of credits is determined by the unit used to measure coursework. A credit is the minimum amount of hours needed per week to finish the entire syllabus in one semester or one year. A credit is equal to 1 or 2 hours of teaching or 2 hours of practical or laboratory work. Grade Point is the numerical weight of the letter grade according to a scale of 10 points. It is the result of the product of the grade point and the number of credits for the course. Letter Grade is a calculative measure that evaluates a student’s performance. For example, an A+ grade is an A+, a B+, a B, etc. Internal Assessment is the sum of the total marks earned in a subject.
