How To Calculate CGPA ?
- Collect Your Grade Points: Gather the grade points you have received in each of the five subjects. These grade points will be on a scale of 10 as per the CBSE grading system.
- Calculate the Sum of Grade Points: Add up all the grade points you’ve received in the five subjects. This will give you the total grade points.
- Calculate Average Grade Point: Divide the total grade points by the number of subjects (in this case, 5). This will give you the average grade point.
- Convert Average Grade Point to CGPA: The average grade point is your CGPA. It’s typically rounded to two decimal places.
Here’s the process using your provided example:
Your grade points for 5 subjects: 7, 9, 8, 9, 7 Total grade points = 7 + 9 + 8 + 9 + 7 = 40 Average grade point = 40 / 5 = 8 CGPA = 8.00
