Application Process

The application process for the NDA 2024 exam will begin in December 2023. The following are the step’s involved in the application process:

    • Register Yourself on the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in) and create a One Time Registration (OTR) ID.
    • Fill out the application form online.
    • Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other required documents.
    • Pay the application fee.
    • Submit the application form.
    • The application fee for the NDA exam is INR 100 for general/OBC candidates, while SC/ST/son of JCOs, NCOs, and ORs are exempt.

The application form can be filled in two parts: Part I and Part II. Part I comprises registration and Part II comprises paying the application fees, selecting the exam centre, upload scanned images of photographs and signatures.

Exam Pattern

  • The NDA exam is a written exam consisting of two papers:
  • Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT).
  • The Mathematics paper will have 120 questions of 300 marks. Each question will carry 2.5 marks. There will be negative marking of 0.83 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • The GAT paper will have 150 questions of 600 marks. Each question will carry 4 marks. There will be negative marking of 1.33 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • The total time duration of the exam is 5 hours.
  • The exam will be conduct in two shifts:
    • Shift First: 9:30 am to 1:00 PM
    • Shift Second: 2:00 pm to 5:30 PM
  • The exam will be held at various centers across India.
  • The qualifying marks for the written exam are 25% for each section.

NDA Exam Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the NDA exam 2023:
