Entrance exam
NSUT Main is the entrance exam for undergraduate programs. It is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) and lasts for two hours. The exam consists of 30 questions in Section I (Maths and Physics) and 25 questions in Section II (Chemistry). The exam consists of multiple-choice questions with four possible answer choices per question. Minimum qualifying marks for NSUT Main is 750 for candidates belonging to general category category, 650 for candidates belonging to OBC-NCL category, 500 for candidates belonging to SC/ST category and 400 for candidates belonging to PWD category. The NSUT Main scores will be used to select candidates for the final selection. The application process for NSUT Main begins in December and ends in January. Students sit for the exam in February and the results are declared in April.

Passing Criteria
NSUT entrance exam cut-offs are 60% for candidates belonging to general category, 50% candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, 40% candidates belonging to SC/ST and 35% candidates belonging to PWD. NSUT entrance test cut-offs for each subject are 33%. Candidates have to pass the test in each subject by scoring at least 33%. NSUT cut-offs for the entrance test differ from one year to the next. Supplementary exam
NSUT conducts supplementary exams for those who have failed in the regular exams. These exams are held in August. In order to appear in the supplementary exams, candidates must have appeared in the regular exams and failed in at least one subject. The application form will be made available online on NSUT’s website. The NSUT authorities will announce the date of release in due time. Students will need to provide their registration number along with their date of birth. The supplementary exams can be applied in PDF format. The application fee for these exams is Rs.500 per general category candidate and Rs. 250 per SC/ ST/ PWD candidate. The syllabus of the supplementary exam is the same as that of the regular exam. The results of these supplementary exams will be declared in September. Students who fail in the supplementary exams will have to sit for the entire year.
Revaluation exam
NSUT provides revaluation service to students who are unsatisfied with their results in regular exams. Revaluation is carried out by experts who will re-check the answer sheet and provide a new mark to the student. How to Revaluate? To revalidate your marks, you will need to submit a revalidation form to NSUT within 10 days after the declaration of your result. The revalidation fee for the general category candidates is Rs.500. For SC/ ST/ PWD candidates, the revalidation fee will be Rs. 250. Your revalidated marks will be declared within 25 to 30 days after the examination begins. If your marks are revalidated in the revalidation process, the new marksheet will be issued to you. However, in the case of revalidated marks, the original marks will be accepted.
