Thank you for choosing Meracareerguide and writing to us. Studying abroad for a bachelors degree is an appreciating decision and yes choosing the UK is also an excellent choice. You can certainly do Architecture degree at bachelors level after completing 12th in India. I shall guide you through the steps you need to take on to progress to studying in the UK.

1. You should choose where you want to study. If you would like to study at top universities for architecture like the University college London, Nottingham, Cambridge, Oxford, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, St Andrews, Birmingham, Warwick and Kings college London; you need to have the following scores at 12th level:
If you are from an international board of education like the CBSE/ ICSE the minimum score has to be AAA. This means you should have scored A in all three subjects at your A levels (12th level). If you are from a IB Diploma, the minimum point required is 36 points at 12th level. And English has to be a compulsory subject both at 10th and 12th level.
For students from the CBSE board, it is mandatory to get 90% and above both in 10th and 12th level and as well English has to be a compulsory subject until 12th level. If you are from a State board education, a score of above 90% is required else students have to complete at least one year on a Bachelors course in India and should have compulsorily scored a Distinction score of above 75% and above. You should have attempted all subjects in ONLY AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT and there should be no arrears or backlogs left. After successfully completing one year of the bachelors course from India, you are eligible to apply for BSc Architecture in the UK. Please remember it is only for those set of students who have scored less than 90% in their 12th level are required to complete one year of a Bachelors degree and if they get a score of 75% and above, they can be offered in the UK universities. Otherwise this one year extension is not necessary.

If you are not focusing on these top set of universities, then you can consider studying else where the competition is not very high. The universities other than the ones mentioned above are relatively easy to get into and the minimum score required will be at least 80% and above although very very few universities accept 75% and above in 12th level. However studying at the top universities is highly recommendable considering the study experience, diversity of student body, faculty, research and reputation.

Regarding the test: There is only one test that you need to prepare for and that is IELTS. This is an English language testing assessment and it is necessary to score above 6.5 for top universities and 6.0 for other universities. You need to approach IELTS coaching classes and these are available in your city. When you book a place for the IELTS test, you will be sent a free preparation material and it will also help to prepare you for the test. Other than this nothing else is actually required. So do well in your IELTS and aim for a score of more than 7.0 You are sure to rock in your admissions. Good luck.
