Hello Asif,
A warm welcome to Career Guide.com
Thanks for visiting us and writing us your career query.
Well Asif i am amazed to hear that you hold a degree as a B.Tech but have been working as a Sales Manager/Business Development Manager and why sales after btech and I hope you know what you are doing and now you wanted to MBA in marketing or MBA in finance .
Your skills like Good Communication Skills (It doesn't matter if you speak English, Hindi, or a regional language; you must be fluent in at least one of them.)
Excellent Presentation Skills (Your presenting abilities should be excellent because you will be explaining the product to customers.)
Self-assurance (A salesperson must be confident about his product.)
Patience (Because as a salesperson, you'll only get one "yes" after ten rejections from customers, so be patient.)
Pressure-handling ability (Because sales is a target-based job, you must be able to tolerate pressure and produce strong outcomes in a sales role.)
Positive Attitude (You should never lose your authority; for example, if you aren't receiving any sales, you should never beg the consumer to "please buy this product, etc." Never beg them; otherwise, even if there's a 1% probability of closing the sale, it won't happen.)
Never Give Up Attitude (If you give up quickly in sales, you will never close a single transaction because every consumer will initially say "No" to your goods and try to ignore you. only your extraordinary efforts
All will become more powerfull after MBA in marketing because after completing MBA you will be having more practical knowledge than your competitors that’s an edge for you .
As you have choose Sales After Btech I will advise you to go with MBA in marketing because salesperson skill will increase and will help in future .
The current job profile of yours and your qualification is quite far away apart from each other. I am curious to know why you didn’t choose to make a career in your respective qualification field?
Well answering your query would you please tell me of how many years of work experience you hold?
As you have been working as the Sales Manager and you know why sales after btech You choose so that tells that you have been working in the marketing field. As per your query you wish to do an MBA and current job profile is in marketing so i would suggest you to go with MBA Marketing, it will help you to move ahead in your career giving you nice growth in the field of marketing as you also hold an experience of same field.
Whereas talking about the MBA finance you have an graduation in Engineering and current job profile is in Marketing so in no way have an exposure to Finance field and also dont have nay base of Commerce side. I would advice you not to go with the MBA Finance.
HOW MBA IN MARKETING WILL HELP YOU IN SALES AFTER BTECH
Why I am saying MBA in Marketing will help you more is because there are various reasons for it because you know why sales after btech you choose because you love sales and MBA in marketing will give an edge over others because you will trained to answer more and work more efficiently you will learn about how to increase sales of your company and your efficiency will increase more after doing this .
MORE Compensation
You will get more compensation than your competitors because of this degree and as a sales person you know how much money is important for any one and increase your compensation will affect your work because you will playing in big leagues and above the competition
Network Building
When you are meeting with different people you got to know more about them because you contact directly to them may be it is one of the reason you choose why sales after btech ? so ya you will have more contacts and they will help you when you need and this is again beneficial for you in many ways
This is the primary reason why all businesses provide their staff with Closed User Groups (CUG) numbers. They don't want salespeople to take their clients with them when they leave the organisation.
Some organisations even forbid salespeople from giving customers their personal phone number rather than their official one.
The sales executive serves as a link between the firm and the end client, as well as the company's public face. So, if he leaves his current company and joins a competitor's, their business would fail, which is why they don't allow you to share your personal information.
JOB Security
After doing MBA in marketing The product may alter, but the procedure will remain the same. It is totally depend on your skills that how much you try to do more for job security
A quality engineer, like a production engineer, cannot transition from one domain to another, but a sales professional may.
A salesperson does not have to be concerned about job security or threat because he can choose the specialisation he wants to follow. He isn't built to stay at a job where the management is inept.
Continue with the Marketing stream. Both the fields have good career scope. As you hold an expereince in marketing this will help you to grow more in the field of marketing. Here i would like to suggest if you are going to pursue your PG in Marketing than i will suggest you to go for Masters in Marketing Management (MMM) this course is quite far better than MBA marketing and is very useful for the students who aspires to make a career in Marketing.
I hope you find this information useful and helpful
Feel free to get in touxh again.
Wish you Good Luck
Thank you
