The plastic industry is growing rapidly. The plastic engineering involves the design, development and manufacture of plastic products. BE in Polymer / Chemical engineering or BSc chemistry is a prerequisitein this field. Apart from the degree courses there are diplomas in plastic/All the major sectors of economy like transportation, household goods, electricity and telecommunications are influenced by plastic . In the public sector plastic engineers may find employment in :-

Indian Institute of Petroleum
Petroleum conservation research association of India
Petroleum cooperatives limited and other such organizations
Polymer cooperation of various states

Thus plastic manufacture will become even more sustainable in the years to come. Over the last few yearssome of major industrial houses have made multi croreinvestments in this industry.
