In terms of Designing scope, please note the more creative one can be, the more it can survive. Also would depend on the specialization one opts for.
Eg. Product designing whereby a product is launched in the market modified and by adding new features to it. Eg. Laptops, mobiles.
Industrial designing, whereby designing a plot to set up an industry keeping in mind the local infrastructure and globalization.
Needless to say fashion designing, interior designing are long term into the industry. To make a niche in these areas one needs to be creative with a fresh look in mind but also needs to know which masses to cater to and needs to keep in mind the taste of the public.
