Hello Aparna,
12th is the perfect stage whereby you need to make a confirmed choice, as your future completely depends on the choice you make at this stage
As far as the options are concerned post 12th, let me tell you these days students have lots of options to choose from, Right from Short term courses to Diploma to degree And variety of choices in those options too. It completely depends on your line of interests.
Your question is posted in the Management category here. So looks like you are interested in pursuing Management as a career.Post 12th, you have the option of pursuing either BMS ( Bachelors in management studies) or BBA ( Bachelors in Business Administration). Both are 3 years full-time undergraduate courses. The difference being that BBA is more Practical oriented course, whereby students are taught mainly through projects and presentations and mostly industrial oriented course. At the same time focus is more on learning facts that take place in the industry. Also the eligibility for BBA is through an Entrance exam. Though it is a management course, one studies management in general terms and nothing specific. After completing the course, you can either join an organization in the department that you wish and gain few years of experience and follow it up with an MBA degree or directly opt for an MBA program from a reputed institute by clearing All India level ( CAT), or State level ( CET) or private institute exams ( XAT, NMAT,) Choice is yours.
In-case you are looking for generic options after 12th, you can opt for courses related to the stream you have opted for and subjects studied in that stream.Any 12th student can opt for courses related to:
ARTS ( Psychology, Sociology, History etc)Designing ( Clear entrance exam)MediaThough I hve mentioned about options after 12th, but please do not make it your ultimate way to plan for future.
Incase you are confused I would suggests undergoing An Aptitude tests that will highlight your potentials and help you make a confirmed choice.
Right now my advise would be to forget everything about future and focus completely on your 12th as it is the base for your future.
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
I agree with Ms. Meghna.
After 12th in Commerce or Arts or Science, if you are interested in Management and Marketing, then you can do BBA or BCA or BBM or BMS. If you are in Commerce in your 12th, then you can also continue with BCom or do BFA.
For Management and Marketing career, you can choose any graduation and then you will have to go for MBA Marketing, preferably from a very reputed Management School.
After 12th there are numerous options apart from Management. It would be better if you take up the Ideal Career Test from CareerGuide.com which help you know your potential and inclination.
Best wishes
