Reading on your question, I can surely tell you, please stay relaxed. It is not mandatory to have studied psychology subjects at school level as almost only 25% of the schools in India offer this subject at the school level. Colleges that offer admission for undergraduate degrees in Psychology understand that psychology is not commonly offered by all schools at 11th, 12th grades. So you will be still given priority during college admission though you have not studied psychology at school. To tell you frankly, you will not have even 1% issue during college admission for not studying psychology at school level. The only advantage of studying psychology at school level is, you can understand the subject easily when again you are going to study it at college level. But don't worry, colleges start the syllabus from the scratch so that any student who has not studied psychology at school, is able to follow up.
Hi There,
I am unsure what you are currently doing and have you been able to get admission into Psychology majors at the Graduate level.
As such would like to throw light on the specialization available at the Masters level.
Please note that even an ARTS student, who has studied 6 papers in Psychology at the Graduate level, can opt for a MA in Clinical Psychology. Mostly University at the South of India, offer an M.Sc in Clinical Psychology, whereby they prefer students with a B.Sc background. As such for an MA student to qualify as a Clinical Psychologists, they would have to pursue an M.Phil or register with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
Hope this helps.Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
Students from any stream is eligible to get admission in graduate (Psychology honors course (graduate course). However, few colleges prefer students who have studied psychology in 11 &12th class.
If you don't have psychology in 11&12th class, you are still eligible to study psychology.
I recommend you to inquire about admission procedure in colleges in Delhi.
Hope this is helpful.
Best Wishes for your career,Apurva Kumar Pandya, PhD
