500+ Career Options
1M+ Test Taken
Hello there,
Interesting to see that you wish to switch into a career in which you have no experience and no qualification. Hence I would suggest self introspection, as to why this shift because shifting at this stage would mean time investment to study the course as well as beginning from scratch.
Though it is my personal opinion, but I feel as an HR you work as a counselor when dealing with employees and their issues.
As a counselor I would suggest, pursue an industrial psychology course in distance learning mode. This will help you retain your HR job and you will also learn about therapies and testing. So both the roles are taken care off. This option only if you wish to continue working in the HR field.
But incase you looking for general counseling or guidance counseling whereby helping students choose a career or school counseling to help deal with student related issue. Then pursuing counseling psychology would be the best. In terms of guiding students towards a career then opting for guidance counseling would be the best option. But please note choosing this option means beginning from scratch.
Please do not opt for certification courses in counseling as they do not stress on practicals. You could either opt for a pg fulltime or a correspondence course available at IGNOU.
Ultimately it is your future and no one other than you can make a choice.
Wish you good luck....
Dear Aspirant,
Are you working and qualified in HRM? If yes, then after your switch to Psychology, both the work experience acquired and qualification of HRM will go entirely waste. Though HR and Psychology are inter related since Human Resource strategies are also based on psychology, it does not mean that you will be getting the tasks of HR when you work as a Psychologist.
Generally, BA Psychology candidates do MBA HR and then get into a corporate job in the HR domain. But you are thinking the reverse which is not that seen and is risky unless you have determined and decided that you do not wish to continue in HR.
Do you want to become a full fledged Psychologist? If yes, then you need to first complete MA Psychology with a specialisation in Clinical or Child or Family or Criminal, etc. The choice of specialisation should be made very carefully since that will define your future career growth and opportunities.
Best wishes
