Hi Naina,First of all you need to complete your graduation, then your masters. After that you can either do an M.Phil. and then a PhD. or you can do a PhD. directly. You will also have to clear the UGC-NET entrance exam for Lectureship. Once all the above stated is done you can easily become a professor in Delhi University.

To become a lecturer, you must have to complete your masters’ in any of the subjects.
Once you complete the postgraduation, then go for the UGC NET.
NET (National Eligibility Test) is conducted for providing a chance to become Assistant Professor and also for awarding Junior Research Fellowship.
The exam is conducted for 90+ subjects.
After qualifying the UGC NET Exam, you will be eligible to apply in any of university or college for the post of Assistant Professor.

As I've your question, I would say...Your subject of post-graduation and NET in that subject makes you eligible to apply for the same.
First You should complete your post-graduation in any preferred subject. Then you can apply for UGC NET Exam.
