NET exam is competitive where the result percentage is very less, so I would suggest you to study hard and not to skip any topic. You should buy books available for the three papers. Passing in all the three individually is mandatory.
You need to have 55% minimum to apply for NET. Please note that all the three papers are now objective type based and there is NO descriptive paper.
I would additionally suggest you to appear for the State level Exam that is SET.

A student who has completed MBA and secured minimum 55% marks (for students belonging to general category) or minimum 50% mark (for reserved as well as PWD i.e. persons with disability category) from a recognized university is eligible to apply for NET(National Eligibility Test) Exam. The eligible candidates can fill up the application form online by visiting it’s official website.
The syllabus and previous year question papers are available on the official website. There are three papers for NET Exam and are conducted on the same day in two sessions. Paper I focuses mainly on assessment of candidate’s research or teaching aptitude. It tests the general awareness, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and logical reasoning . Paper II is different for each specialization i.e. it depends on the subject chosen by the student and questions are based on the syllabus. Generally it covers total syllabus for MBA course. Both the papers have multiple choice questions.
In order to crack the exam, you need to prepare well by reading study material. Solve previous question papers in given time limit to test your preparation.
