A degree in biomedical engineering has lot of scope in hospital sectors, in sales, service and maintenance department in multinational companies. The other career options available for a biomedical engineer could be in management, administration and in teaching and research.

The general job of a biomedical engineer is sale, service, maintenance of instruments related to biomedical streams.

The other career options could be in colleges, universities, research institutions and governmental laboratories. The nature of job in these organizations will be of academic and research. If you have an aptitude for teaching and research then these organization will be a better opportunities for you. To progress in these organization, hard work is required. A sound and clear understanding of subject and research is must. For this you have to do Post Graduation in Biomedical engineering.



If you wish to make your career in management and administration then, you should go for MBA from a well known institute. Initially you will be inducted as Assistant Manager, but after gaining experience in some years you will be a senior person. Being biomedical engineer you are a technically qualified person and a degree of MBA will make you eligible for management position.

You are a graduate in engineering, if you have interest in army, then you can make entry. The career scope in army is great. If you love adventure and discipline then this is best line for you. Similarly, you may also try for Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. But for these jobs you must have a passion for it.



Another career option for is central civil service or state civil service. You are a graduate and you are eligible to compete for jobs conducted by commissions. But this not a simple and easy path, you have to prepare for competitive exams. You have to choose two subjects, and a detailed knowledge of general studies subjects like (history, geography, economics, political sciences, statistics) is must. Besides, extensive knowledge of general knowledge is also necessary. The toppers of civil services are engineers who opt mainly for two subjects, physics and mathematics.



You may also start your own business, since you are a biomedical engineer, therefore, you must be having some ideas of business related to your subject.



If you don't want to go for civil services or management then I would like to suggest you that, it will be better for you to pursue career in your biomedical stream.
