Dear aspirant

Unorganised Sector

It is appreciating to see your interest in studying further related to accounting. The good news for you is as your spouse is there with you in UK, you dont have to spend normally as much as an international student who spend in lakhs. I meant to say that you can save so much in living expenses and living room expenses. All you should bother is about the tuition fee that you will pay to the university for studying your course.

you have mentioned that you are living in luton right? So you can definitely search for a college/ university in Luton to do your accounting course. Before that i also want to know from where you did your MBA in India? If you had done your MBA from a reputed business school in India plus if you already have gained some work experience then you can easily work in uk on a spouse visa. Else as you may wish you can also do a course in uk. I want to make you aware that uk is a bit competitive compared to many other countries for searching job. If you are have degrees from esteemed universities plus if you also have some work experience then it is easy to get jobs. Otherwise, it is highly necessary to get a UK degree to get a job there. So your decision to study there is absolutely correct.

As it comes to Luton, I can definitely propose you to study at Bedfordshire university in the UK, and this is in Luton only. This university is also good in terms of recognition and there are lots of Indian students studying there. As you are in Luton you can probably make a visit to the university admission office to discuss an appropriate course for you in accounts. You can sit with the admissions team and read their degree broucher, ask question, clear doubts and then submit your study application on spot. After discussing with them you can also submit application on line. They dont have any application fee and you can choose upto three courses that you want to study in accounts and apply for them. They will give you a seat to study in the course that best suits you. You can do MSc Accounts, MBA with Accounts with them. You can also study MSc Business and Management or MSc International business with accounts as your main subject. To particularly mention, you can definitely do your second MBA abroad and i know many candidates who did their first MBA in India in ordinary colleges and after marriage, because to live and work abroad they have done second MBA degree there. These are the courses available at this university for accounts. If you have any further questions, please contact us back. All the best.

Hello

Good to see that you are considering to study in the UK, something related to accounts.

1. Study options: You can study any course related to accounts in Luton. The common courses that you are eligible to apply in accounts are:
  • MSc Accounts
  • MSc Accounts and finance
  • MBA with accounts
  • ACCA - Professional certification
I understand you are already an MBA degree holder but there is no harm to study an another MBA. I have plenty of friends who have done their second MBA abroad apart from doing their first MBA degree in India. Otherwise you can also do a Masters or ACCA. Any degree from a UK Institution will keep you high in searching for jobs. While doing a Masters, you can do an internship and this will keep you upfront to being selected for full time jobs soon after your graduation. If I were you, I would either go for an MSc Accounts or an ACCA certification. As you are in Luton, you can find colleges that support ACCA training and offer weekly classes.

2. University options: As you are in Luton, you have only one option and that is to study at the University of Bedfordshire. This is the only university based in Luton. However if you want to move else where to study at other reputed universities, then you might think of other schools in and around London. So it is a wise decision to take part in ACCA certification in London or neighbouring cities. Most of these classes are held on weekends and you can travel from Luton only on the weekends to attend such classes. Otherwise choose to study at University of Bedfordshire which is also pretty good.

3. Visa status and tuition fee status:You have stated on your query that you are on a spouse visa. So that is a dependent visa. May I know how long have you been there in the UK? If you have lived there for more than three years on a spouse visa then you are eligible to study at any UK university as a home student rather than an international student. As a home student you will only pay around 3000-4000 pounds as tuition fee for a year where as an international student will pay between 12000-15000 or even more depending on the university for a one year tuition fee. If you have been there in the UK for at least three years, please claim to pay fees at the home status and this will help you save close to 8-10lakh in Indian money. I have friends who were unaware of this and ended up paying high fees, I am glad I could inform this to you today.

4. IELTS test: Similarly, if you have lived in the UK for less than 3 years, then you should appear for the IELTS test. You can visit on the website to register for the test at your desired time, www.ielts.org Once you register, they will send you free preparing materials for the exam. You have to get a minimum of 6.0 overall for studying at Bedfordshire. IELTS score is mandatory while you are submitting your study application.

So choose an ideal course among the ones that I have indicated above and submit an application before 1st July2014. This way you can enrol in your accounts course from September 2014 itself. My best wishes to you for your studies. If you require any information further, please contact us and we are happy to help. Good luck.
