As from your question what I understand is:
Dear Civil Engineering Aspirant,
I would like to start answering this question with a strong and bold and confident 'YES'.
I am involved in teaching and interacting with many engineers and more of civil engineers for some years now and through my more than seven years of career counselling experience, I can definitely tell you that Civil Engineering has a lot of scope in India considering the infrastructure development in the country, however there is a myth that Civil Engineers are only those engineers who are involved in building real estate or roads.
I personally consider Civil Engineers as the "nation builders". This is very right since Civil Engineers are those professionals who contribute to the nation building every day than any body in the country.Civil Engineers should be proud of this fact.
Civil Engineering job is a versatile and very important for any construction. Construction does not only mean houses, hotels, roads, but also building airports, oil & gas plants, shipping, logistics, transportation, highways, etc. In all these sectors Civil Engineering is the backbone.
Infrastructure and Construction sector are the biggest sectors in India and with the new government to come, this sector will be given a major boost. Investments of upto Dollar One Trillion are expected to made in this sector in India. Dollar One Trillion means around Sixty Lakh Crores in rupees.
To built so much of infrastructure civil engineers will be required in huge numbers and there fore there is no need to say that there will be no jobs or low paid jobs for civil engineers.
Construction Management:
Construction Management is one area where Civil Engineers should play a key role in learning Construction Project Management formally through a post graduate course in the same. This is future of civil engineering.
Best wishes

Some of the significant ones include structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, hydraulic engineering, environmental engineering and a few more important areas of study.
Engineers are employed by a wide range of companies in the United States, from small start up businesses focused on a new invention idea to large-scale companies that work on immense contracts. Engineers from different fields constantly work together to create successful products. When considering the design and manufacture of an aircraft, for example, the workforce behind the development will include aeronautical engineers optimizing airflow paths, analysis engineers evaluating the strength of landing gear developed by design engineers, electronics engineers developing wiring methods and pilot controls, ergonomic engineers designing comfortable seating and computer engineers programming the aircraft operation systems, including everything from the autopilot system to the cabin crew call system.
