Dear Student,
Psychology is a good field if you have right aptitude and interest to pursue it . The growing understanding of psychology and its importance has brought itself with plethora of career opportunities. It holds the solution to a thousand mental, social and psychological problems human beings find themselves battling with. Psychology is an extremely complex science working on pure logic and reasoning combined with apt sensitivity. Psychology is usually taught at the 12 or equivalent level with other social sciences. Most universities offer the subject as a Bachelors Honors programme. After graduation you can opt for MA or MSc in Psychology , Social work or Counseling. Post graduate courses in Psychology are offered only to students who have graduated with psychology . Specializations in the subject can be pursued at the post graduate level or at the doctoral level- MPhil or PhD, after post graduation. At the master's and doctoral level, the subject becomes increasingly specialized. What you take up as your specialization decides which career path you can follow. For example, sports psychologists should have an extensive educational background and training in sports , motivation management, performance and athletics.Career OptionsClinical psychologistsCounseling PsychologistsNeuro PsychologistsTeaching & ResearchCriminology & Legal PsychologistIndustrial/ Organizational PsychologistSports PsychologistEducational PsychologistSchool CounselorSocial Work
