How to select University /Institute for Distance Education?

There exist a lot of Colleges, private institutes offering distance education programs, but all are not recognized by DEC (Distance Education Council), Government of India. It is recommended to select college/university or the institute which is recognized and course is approved by DEC and University Grants Commission (UGC).
