There are no short term psychology courses in India.
Psychology is a vast field of social science having no accurate definition.
If you are interested in becoming a full fledged psychologist, then taking Bachelors and Masters Courses in Psychology / Child Psychology / Clinical Psychology is recommended. BA Psychology / MA Psychology are the options.
For Counselling, there are short term courses of 6 months to 1 year in Family Counselling, Marriage Counselling, Career Counselling, etc.

There are no short term courses that are offered through universities. However, one can pursue online introductory courses in psychology field from cousera.com. These courses can help a candidate know more about the field and develop personality. However, it won’t help much from profession point of view.

There are short term courses in few fields of psychology. Psychology is a broad field and has sub-fields within like organizational psychology, Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, Health Psychology etc. These short-term courses are suitable for those who have completed masters in any of the psychology streams to enhance knowledge & skills in specific domain.
Most short term courses are around Guidance and Counseling, and Rehabilitation Psychology which are recognized by RCI.
Private institutions offer certificate courses in counseling, projective tests, psychotherapies (like CBT/REBT etc.), neurolinguistics programming, psychometric assessment, competency mapping, psych-oncology etc. These are not recognized courses.
Mental Health Institutions offer certificate courses/ internship programs in psycho oncology, NLP, psychodiagnostics, case management etc.
