Yes, MPhil after your MA will make you eligible to apply for Lecturer positions at Universities and colleges in India. MPhil is an ideal route to get into an academic career. However, you may have to clear either NET/ SET tests to be eligible to apply for a teaching position in Universities or colleges in India. Just an MPhil degree alone wouldn't be sufficient for a lecturership.
NET exams are conducted twice annually in India, and the upcoming exam date will be on 22nd Jan 2017. It will be conducted across 90 locations in India and in case you have already applied for an exam place then clearing this exam in Jan would help you get through for a lecturer position. Otherwise, the next exam would be around June/ July 2017 and try sitting for that intake. Clearing NET is mandatory in order to sit for a lecturer interview in India.
Otherwise, you could also sit for SET-State entrance test that is equally considered instead of NET. Check for the exam date and procedures for the state you belong to. Clearing this exam would allow you to apply for lecturer positions only within the state you belong to. On the other hand, NET would make you eligible to apply for positions anywhere within India.
