Dear Aspirant,

MBA or PGDM either can do. However hope you are sure that you wish to leave Chemistry field and get into management. After doing MBA/PGDM your chemistry will be of no use.

I would suggest that you should give the Ideal Career Test on CareerGuide.com which will analyse your strengths, weaknesses, passion, interest areas, etc. and suggest you career options. It may happen that Management may not be recommended to you based on your capability, etc.

Best wishes

Hi There,

Interesting.

Both MBA and PGDBM are management courses. Difference being that private Universities not approved by AICTE cannot, label their courses as MBA hence they call it a Post Graduate Management course.

Hope the difference is clear. Please do note the ranking and Industrial recognition of the University before you apply for a PGDBM course. Or else your degree will not be valid.

And as Dr said above, please be sure you wish to get into Management as your degree in Chemistry would be invalid later. Only one thing you could do, is pursuing an MBA in Pharmaceuticals management, which will do a justice with both Chemistry and Management.

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck....

Dear Student,
Firstly make it sure that why are switching your career path from science side to management stream. In my view you should go for M.Sc in Industrial Chemistry. But still if you wanna join MBA/PGDBM then go for MBA, as its more valuable, highly acceptable. And one thing to be highlighted that as you have done BSC in Chemistry then you have an option of pharmaceuticals. You can opt MBA in pharmaceuticals... Now a days it is very demanding and various job opportunities are available....

Hope it will help you in decision making

All the best
