It’s good to hear that you have been aspiring to make a career in UPSC. Students who wish to serve the society for them UPSC is one of the best career options that have always been. Civil Services have been always one of the preferred career options these days by the students. Every year there are many career opportunities in the civil services. In order to make a career in the Civil Service one needs to give an Civil Service Exam which are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission Board i.e UPSC. UPSC conducts several other exams like CDSE,NDA exams etc.

Under civil service exams one can apply for the various posts like IAS,IPS,IFS, IES etc. These posts are considered to be the Class I officer posts as they come under the Central Government. And career in Civil Services is considered as the prestigious career in the Society.

In order to be eligible for the UPSC exam any student who has completed a Graduation Degree from any stream from a recognized university can apply for the UPSC exam. There is no requirement to have a Financial Assistance to appear for this exam.

The Age criteria is as follows for the candidates –

General Candidate-  20 to 30 years

OBC- 20 to 33 years (3 years age relaxation)

SC/ST- 20 to 35 years (5 Years age relaxation)

There are restrictions for the number of attempts to the UPSC exam which is as follows-

  1. General- 4 attempts
  2. OBC- 7 attempts
  3. SC/ST- No limit for the attempts till they are eligible for the exam as per the age criteria.

So you can definitely apply for the UPSC exam after graduation. Just work hard and study well.
