Dear Manoj,

The pathway to get a doctoral degree after post graduation is through three main directions, you can choose the best suited for yourself

1) Do your M.Phil which is a gateway for a P.hD admission

2) give the P.hD entrance examinations of different universities and institutes, clear it and get through and

3) the final pathway is through CSIR/UGC NET examination.

Any student who has completed his/her post graduation with a minimum of 55% marks is eligible to appear for this exam.

You can appear even if you are awaiting your results.

The syllabus and previous question papers are available in UGC official website.

Thorough preparation is required to clear the entrance

The duration is between 3-5 years.

A stipend of rupees 20,000/- will be awarded to research scholars.

Most of all IIT's and research institutes have facility for doctoral studies.

Hope this helps

Happy Career Planning
