To join the Indian Army as an officer after 12th Commerce , you can apply for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination. The NDA examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

The eligibility criteria for the NDA examination are as follows:

Nationality: You must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan.

Age: You should have been born not earlier than 2nd January 2004 and not later than 1st January 2007.

Educational Qualifications: You should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board.

The selection process for NDA involves a written examination, followed by an interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB). The written examination consists of two papers - Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT) . Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the SSB interview .

If you clear the written examination and the SSB interview, you will be required to undergo medical examinations. Upon successfully passing the medical examinations, you will be recommended for training at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla.

After completing the three-year training at the NDA, you will be commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army .

The Joint Defence Service Training Institute of the Indian Armed Forces is the National Defense Academy . Before moving on to their separate training institutes for additional training, all army candidates for the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together here.
