Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering. It is also a very popular branch of engineering, A mechanical engineer deals with machines of all kinds. They research , design , evaluate and develop machines and tools. They install and maintain machines applying engineering principles. They work with power producing as well as-power generating equipment. They study and analyze blue prints, technical drawings drawn with hand as well as computers and schematics. They examine reasons of machine failure and locate exact problem and suggest remedial measures and give repair instructions,> they are responsible for overseeing production function and ensure that production is taking place as per the set standards and procedures
. Mechanical engineers work in almost all industries and their work varies by industry and function. Some specialties include applied mechanics, computer aided design and manufacturing , energy system, pressure vessels and piping, heating and refrigeration also work as technical support officers, sales officers and managers. Mechanical Engineering is one of the most comman branch of enigineering and thus there are mutiple colleges which offer Mechanical engineering, due to the Branch of Engineering many students who pursue engineering would like to do Mechanical Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering is a carrer which can provide you with various oppurtunities in Job and business, But as the number of institution and colleges are increasing many mechanical engineers are coming to Job market, over the years the institution which has provided good quality in teaching and has created its name has been able to place its students.

The better thing would be to search for a good college of Engineering which has good faculty and track record for mechanical engineering, would end up providing good job prospect.

The important factor acoording to me would be to follow your own area of interest because Job market is a cycel and the same would keep moving from one sector to another based on the situation of economy.

Many times in 4 year of Engineering course as well we see one sector jobs reducing drastically since 4 years is very long time.

Mechanical Engineering also is a branch where a person can think of starting his or her own venture.

Thus the bottam line would be follow your interest and dream....other things would follow..

All the best!!!!
