Hi mansi,

Before I answer your question, my question is which one do you prefer.

By the way, both the fields mentioned are in no way related to each other.

One is Science, engineering
and the other is Finance related, rather accounts, CA

So here you need to get a clear understanding of what you wish to pursue further.

If confused, I would recommend taking the Aptitude tests to determine where your potentials are and then choose wisely.

Though both, Engineering and CA require high level interests in Math, moving further, CA goes deeper and deeper in terms of accounting and budgeting.

So you have to decide whether you wish to get into the technical field or purely into the financial field.

If it is a B.Tech, then after 10th, in Junior college, you would have to pursue PCM. After 12th, appear for Entrance exams and then study a B.Tech course which is for 4 years.

If CA, then after 10th, pursue Commerce, and move along with B.Com as your Graduation course. Along with B.Com course, you can clear the different groups CA course has been divided into.

For more information, do write back to me, will help you ASAP.

Hope you make a wise choice.

Wish you good luck............

Dear Aspirant,

Both courses are different than each other in every aspect.

It seems you are a science student and confused too much.

To be best sure of what suits you for your career, I would suggest you to undergo an online psychometric test from CareerGuide which will help you understand yourself in respect of your strengths, weaknesses, emotional quotient, etc. and will exactly tell you which career is ideal for you.
You can then call counsellors to discuss.

Best wishes!

Hello Mansi,
Welcome to career guide.com
Thanks for approaching us and writing us your career query.

A very interesting question you are holding with you.Well Mansi it would have been very good if you would have provided a little information about you with regards to the educational qualification and what you would have been doing currently. This would have helped to answer your query correctly.

Well assuming that you need an information about both the careers and would be early in selecting a career .

If we talk about B.Tech and CA they both are completely different fields. The former belongs to the Science stream and the latter belongs to Commerce stream.

In order to make a career as a B.tech one needs to have completed 12th from Science stream with subjects Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics. After completing 12th one needs to appear for the Engineering Entrance Exam like CET,JEE etc. and than after this you gets eligible for the 4 years B.tech /B.E course. There are around 250+ subjects for specialisation to name few IT,Biodiesel,Computer,Mechanical etc. After completing this course one works as an engineer.

CA is a professional parttime degree which comes under the commerce stream. Its one of the presitigious and demanding career. CA is a professional who handles the accounts and audit the accounts and looks for the taxation part of the Companies and of individuals. Students who have a great interest in Finance and Accounting can make a good career in the field of CA. While in order to become CA one needs to have completed 12th from any stream(Commerce background is always a plus point) after that one needs to appear for the following exams.

CPT exam ------>IPCC Group I & II+3 years internship+100 hours IT Training--------> CA Final.

Now you have to decide where you wish to make a career whether in commerce or science. Check where your interest lies.

I would like to suggest you to go for CareerGuide.com Career assessment this will tell your area of interest, strengths and weaknesses with the report you can connect to me or other expert on the panel for the Guidance.

I hope you find this information relevant to your career query.
Fell free to get in touch again.

Wish you Good Luck

Thank You

Warm Regards,
Prathamesh K.
