It has been previously mentioned that BCA is a course open to all field students. But for some colleges/universities, the general criteria for getting admission in BCA is that the student should have got at least an aggregate of 50% marks in his/her class 12th exams. Some colleges/universities require the student to have studied and passed in Mathematics compulsorily as a subject in class 12th whereas some require the student to have studied and passed in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th .

BCA is equivalent to which degree, MSU BCA Entrance Exam Syllabus, Some colleges/universities give choices and require the student to have studied and passed in either Mathematics, Computer Science or Information Practices. By some colleges/universities, the eligible student is required to clear an Entrance-based examination. A student is also required to pass other stages, if any, like a personal interview, group discussion, etc.
