Hello...

I am working as Financial analyst in a private company. so I think I can answer your query very well. Being a financial analyst I would say the work timings of financial planner varies from one company to other company and from one sector to other sector.

Even my work timings are flexible, sometimes I need to even work on Saturday and Sundays based on work need. Generally per week fifty Hours we need to work but some times it is increased to sixty, seventy hours if work pressure is there. If some client visit is there surprise than also we need to work based on client needs not as per work timing of the company which is 8 hours per day. So generally it is more or less flexible in work timing and we can plan our working on our need basis.

Financial planners are the person who are responsible for managing their own schedule. so they have to decide how much time is required for a particular scheduled work.
Based on some reports twenty four percent of financial planners are working more or less fifty hours per week. However the actual time commitment can be much heavier for those who are starting out in the field. For established financial planner who are committed to deliver excellent services. For the delivered commitments some times they are sharing some percentage of revenue generated from the client by the company.

For your doubt about working in night shifts same answer is valid as they need to decide it is completely work based, if work load is there than may be he needs to work at night shift. Suppose if board meeting is there or any other important meeting with client is there than definitely you need to show your skill and expertise for which you need to work more, whether weekends, night etc does not matter. Than again its completely your decision how you manage your work but normal case it is normal working hour of eight hours if you chose for traditional office company.

In case you are in some U.S. based company whose work timing will be night timing of Indian countries.
In that case night shift will be compulsory and mandatory as the clients will be available only in night times.
In most of the cases it is more or less flexible.

Hello...

I do not think academic record matter while looking for a job in statistician profile.
The minimum academic required for the statisticician profile is graduation with any specilisation. If you are good in your work of statistician and if you are having good experience in that field than the academics does not matter at all.If you have experience of five to ten years a great scope and opportunities are there in market for you.
You can negotiate for a good package if you are master in your work and having command over your idea and knowledge with full confidence.

All below mention can also work for the statictician profile:
  • B. Sc.- any specilisation
  • B. Com- any specilisation
  • B. Tech- any specilisation
  • M. Tech/M. Sc.- any specilisation
  • MBA/PGDM - any specilisation

The working scope of a ststictician is vast and to sum up we can say as mention below:

  • Data Assessment: To collect data from all the available resources and process the raw data into useful and analysed reports with the use of statistical techniques and knowledge he have.

  • Models development: The person will create models based on traditiona techniques like logistics regression etc.

  • Analytic result interpretation: The person will work in cooperation with other members and department will try to measure, interprete the model results and transform them to actionable recommendations.

  • Process for regular task: they develop a process for the regular task like data extraxtion, reporting and standard statistical data validation.

  • Integrate diverse data sources into solutions

  • Analytic result presentation: If required these person need to give, provide presentations on the actionable recommendations througn power point presentations, Video conferences, conference calls etc.

  • Generate ways to solve analytical problems creatively and efficiently, taking reviews from others on the reports generated to further improve them.

Academics record is all about eligibilty for nay post and I thnk minimum if you are graduate it is enough to go for a Job of statictical analayst.
We can answer your query more clearly if provided specific data like you are interested in which company or sector to work as a statistician, how many years of experince you have in same work, what is your academic background which is creating a doubt in your mind for working as a statistician.
