Hey Dear,

This is one of question that most students ask before they enter into a career. In fact this seems to be the most obvious question in today's world where money is of high priority and this is also what is asked first when you get into a job... Amazing No!

But we forget that there is life beyond making money as well and it is not the ultimate thing that we want in life and most important is ones happiness and self satisfaction.

You must have seen that many people leave their jobs and get into something that they enjoy which is also not at all a high paying career as well. Ultimately it is important to enjoy the work you do. It is also said that : If you enjoy your work it is never a work for you and becomes something that is relaxing for you.

Now coming back to your question. I would simply say that do not go for high paying careers but for careers that excite you and you enjoy studying them and want to learn more and more in that area.

As far as Psychology is concerned it is absolutely not a high paying career in India. In fact it comes in the most underrated professions. Hence the salary is less and even the demand for these professionals. Even if someone hires you they will not be willing to pay a good salary to a fresher. But definitely with experience and expertise one is paid pretty decently.

But still it would be wrong to compare it with careers in Engineering or any other high paying profession for that matter.

If you want to opt Psychology then do so only when you want to help people in need and money does not holds high priority for you. Also you should be interested to study variety of human beings and their behaviour.

Be sure before entering into this profession.
I hope you make a right choice!

Best Wishes!
